Illustrations 1 - ET09

One of the most useful things (for me) about having a good relationship with your energy mind and that it responds to queries pretty much right away these days is that I don't have to worry about illustrations any longer.

Illustrations and illustrators are totally taken for granted; no-one ever gives much (conscious) notice to anything they do, most of muppet city being so tunnel visoned down on WORDSWORDWORDS all the time.

But as is the truth of the matter, it all starts with a vision.

And long before you can define a vision in WORDSWORDSWORDS, you need to get a sense of the contents of the vision - colours, pictures, sounds.

Personally, I start anything practical with the vision which becomes a logo which gives me the key colours which gives me the images and those create the WORDSWORDSWORDS at the end of the day.

So. I'm sitting at home, minding my own business and I get a phone call from Alex who wants to take a few thousand flyers for ET09 to the MBS expo - could I make a flyer for ET09 please, preferably before lunch?

ET09?!

I've no idea! Where did that come from all of a sudden!

And the evil responsibility of it!

The flyer will have the conference logo. The conference logo sets the tone for the conference. It's also to be found on the yearbook, meaning that whether or not ET pracs and trainers will be getting any new clients in 2009, what kind of kind experience EVERYONE is going to have at that conference, and how the whole promotional strategy for ET for the entire next year is going to work is pretty much entirely up to me.

Preferably before lunch ...

I can understand if you spring this on a poor person who tries to make designs with nothing more than a few dozen years of school learning and a big library of standard design handbooks, they would find that somewhat challenging.

As it happens, I use my energy mind for such things.

Even as Alex was speaking and I was freaking out, the vision had already arrived - a sunrise over planet Earth.

I was a little surprised because it was very different from the happy girl with the flower which was last year's theme; but then I thought, well, that's a very positive image, very cooling and relaxing, I find this a very soothing image and message. The obvious but very nice sunrise metaphor, planet Earth so that means all people on Earth, very inclusive, and who knows? Markets are in meltdown, perhaps a cool, steady, strong positive message of sticking together and believing that the sun will rise again, and knowing that our planet is so beautiful and belongs to all of us, and there are OCEANS OF ENERGY everywhere is just what the doctor ordered for when it comes to it.

The rest was just so easy.

And here is the flyer, which got done a little after lunch as it turned out:

This is an A6 flyer, like a postcard.

They were printed and are delivered and ready to be given out to many people. With zero stress.

And that's the type of thing for which Project Sanctuary is totally unbeatable, and the sort of situation that I thank my lucky stars that I've got a good relationship with my energy mind now and can rely on it to give me the goods if something like that comes along - and get it done, preferably before lunch!

What do you think?

Do you like the energy?

Yeah, I really like the energy. Warm - and it's all blues and whites and moss. a true thing somehow; it's making me cry.
